IoT Scenarios
To really understand the Internet of Things (IoT) requires application, implementation, and execution in the real world. IEEE IoT recently launched a program to provide the IoT community an interactive platform on which to engage with use cases, service descriptions, business models, and reference implementations that will be key to developing a vibrant IoT industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to contribute to the IoT cause, as well as get excellent exposure for your projects and ideas.

- Description
The Smart Running Track is a sport and fitness/personal health application. The idea is to provide a smart, competitive environment for runners. The runners will be able to see their position and the position of other runners on the track map displayed on their mobile phones. They will also be able to review their main health parameters (such as blood pressure, body temperature, the amount of calories burned). In order to increase competitiveness, the new ranking criteria other than the usual running order will be provided (e.g. amount of calories burned, or if the track is a trim-track, the number of exercises performed). Personal health monitoring will be performed by a physician, who will use a supervisor computer to review the body parameters of all runners at once.
